Meet the Heart Behind Essence of Raz
Kia ora, I’m Razia — the owner and creative behind Essence of Raz. I’m a proud Samoan, Fijian Indian mum of three young boys, based in Upper Hutt. I create personalised backdrops, balloon styling and party details for special occasions across the Wellington region.
I’ve always had a passion for celebrating special moments through special setups and party details. Being a mum is my biggest motivation, and it’s what pushed me to start building something of my own while creating a better future for my babies.
As a mum, I know how much those milestone moments mean, and I love helping bring them to life with creativity, care and my own personal touch. Whatever your occasion, I’d love to help make it memorable.

Frequently asked questions
How do I secure my event date?
Event styling packages require a 20% non-refundable deposit to secure the date and booking. Until the deposit is made, the date is not secure.
Are setup and pack down included?
Yes for backdrop and balloon styling packages: installation/setup and pack down/collection are included. Travel fees are additional and vary by location.
Are there additional fees for late pack down?
Yes. Pack downs after 10pm require an additional fee.
Can the colours and theme be customised?
Yes. Styling packages are customised around the event theme, colours and overall style.
Can I hire the backdrops on their own?
Yes. Individual backdrop, wall and décor hire is available for customers who prefer to style the event themselves.
How long is individual hire?
Standard hire is 3 days unless otherwise agreed. Longer hire periods may incur additional charges.
What is required for custom party-favour orders?
A minimum order of 12 applies, with a 50% non-refundable deposit and at least 2 weeks' notice. Rush-order fees apply to orders placed with under 2 weeks' notice.
Are payment plans available?
Yes for styling packages. Party-favour payment plans are available on request with 1 month's notice before the event date.
